More Kitties!

~ Richardson & Charlotte

Charlotte

Firsr is Charlotte. So I have to get her out before I can start....
Well, that's a blurry Charlotte
She is in the cage for a while, I can't let her out, there are already a few cats that have escaped and I can't hold her. I just want to cuddle her.
This is the pen without her in it, her blankets are everywhere. Haha!

It's empty now.....
A quick spray with some disinfectant and;

a quick wipe down.

Now it's ready to put everything back in. First her bed and blankets.
And done!
Now to add the cat!
 Tadaa! Snug as a bug!

Charlotte walked around a neighborhood for six months as a stray, before she was brought in.

A Check-up!

Impact Project Check-up!

I think my project meets my proposal because I have done and shown my learning.
The things I still need to do are start on my presentation, get more photos, gather some feedback form the staff and spend more time with the animals.
I feel that I will finish my project on time because I have been mainly going out I do really have to start on my presentation though.
I am aiming for a gold this time, I think I have done better this time through doing a log every Friday; So I have shown my Student Agency. My project is helping the community and I have learned things I would not have been able to in the classroom. And lastly I have done my project well, I only need to prove it now.

Journal ~ Puppies!!!

Puppies!

Today Mum and I cleaned up the puppies room. We put them in the kennels so we could mop and sweep the floors. There are three of them there the smaller one in the blue kennel and the other two in the one by me.

After we cleaned the floor I clean out this kennel for the smaller one, because they only just got their Parvo vaccine and we don't want to take risks.  And then I replace the dirty blankets and put his bowls I cleaned  back.

After that Mum and I got to play with them because they were bored the past few days.

Journal ~ Pictures!

!Hello There!

So today I was doing Chester's pen. (I did others as well but I am showing you guys Chester) So in this picture is Chester's pen before I cleaned it.

This is Chester! Anyway, the first step is to take him out. I move him into a carrier so that I can clean, his pen.

So now I'm able to clean, see?

I take out the litter tray, bed, then the water and food.

After that I sweep it and then I wipe it down with some disinfectant.

And then I put everything back.

Journal ~ 6

!!Week Six!!

I think I am swimming very well. Maybe not the best, but definitely swimming.

I am learning lots, I can't really identify specific points of learning, but I'm getting better and better every week.  I am getting better at my teamwork and also working on my own. I am especially happy today because, I really do not want to be a burden and I want to be helpful; So today mum left me and went to the docters (She's left me there before), but she was talking to Cass, and she said that she hopes I'll be okay and then Cass said that she shouldn't worry, and that I can do this with my eyes closed. That made me very happy because I am not a burden and I am being helpful.

Next week, I am want to take some pictures. I am going to need to ask permission first but I am pretty sure it won't be a problem. I want to take a few of the kittens that are up for adoption and maybe some of the puppies. I also would like to show you the steps to what I do.

Journal~ Motivation Statements

Motivation Statements

I currently feel motivated and positive by my project because I love going out and doing worthwhile with my Friday time. Even if I just help a little bit it makes it fun and fulfilling to even do that little bit.

Moving forward I'm going to maintain my motivation by working hard and knowing that it is something worthwhile and that I am helping making the lives of the animals, the staff and volunteers.

So far I haven't really talked to too many people about my project. And that will be my goal for next week, I want to talk to my project teacher, my family and the staff at the SPCA about my project and how I can improve it.

As it stands I think my project is heading towards (I hope) at least a bronze, because I think I am better showing my student ownership, and my project has community impact, quality and substantial learning.

Journal~

Today, I did the cats for the first time.

The last few times I have been working with the dogs. Usually what I do is clean the cages, and today I got to do the kitty cats! They were so cute! There was Jack and he's naughty he wants to escape. When I finished helping another volunteer, I was allowed to play with six tiny puppies. They were probably about 2 or 3 weeks old and they're mum is so sweet.

Anyway, it was very fun and I enjoyed playing with the puppies and kitties!

Journal Log ~ Hello there!

Welcome!

For my Impact Project I am going to help at the SPCA two blocks a day. I chose to do this because, I really want to be a vet and I want to get as much experience working with animals. At first I didn't want to go to the SPCA, because I would love them all and want to bring them home <3 <3 <3  But we went to check it out and decided that it was worth a try. I still am trying really hard not to bring them all home. Just last week I almost took four, 1 week old puppies home to foster. They were dumped at the vets.

Hello!

Hello! I am continuing this class next semester, I really want to learn Japanese. My favorite thing I have learnt is that they sound out their vowels like we do in Afrikaans. It makes it a lot easier to pronounce the words correctly. I also am really enjoying learning the Romanji (symbols).

Welcome to my Blogger

Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Jessica, but Jess is fine. I am a student here at Campion. I come from a bit outside of Cape Town in South Africa. I am bilingual, my dad is English while my mum is Afrikaans. Afrikaans is a language it's a bit like Dutch it is a language that is only spoken in South Africa.
